No sailor sets out to be a marine electrician, but electrical work is hard to avoid on a boat. Today’s boats have complex electrical systems, and the sea is as tough as ever – corroding, jarring, conspiring to destroy electrical connections. And, of course, there is always another gizmo to add.
Electrical work takes some special tools. The basic tools aren’t that complicated, but the rabbit hole of tools can run deep and get pretty specialized. Let’s take a tour through my tool bag, and I’ll try to make sense of this world.
